The Small-Business Marketing Checklist

The road to marketing success is often paved with uncertainty. Questions like where do I start, how do I bring in more clients, and what do I need to do to grow my business are questions about marketing that all small-business owners eventually face. Luckily, with a little guidance, you’ll be on your way in no time.

If you’re a small-business owner, you’re in luck. This article will serve as your marketing checklist. Once you’ve completed all of the below tasks, you’ll be well on your way to marketing success.

1. Logo Design

The first step to small business marketing (after you’ve done all your research and targeting of course) is to get a logo designed for you. The logo should align with your business’ goals, and should fit with your brand. In our previous article we talk about branding, and you can find more about that here.

2. Build a Social Media Profile

Social media has become an absolute marketing superpower, and if you utilize it correctly, it can be your most powerful marketing tool. After your profile is created, make sure you post regularly and engage with your audience. A successful business frequently engages their fans.

3. Build a Website

Websites used to be the holy grail of an online presence. All web traffic would go through your website, and that’s how your clients would find you. Though this is usually not the case anymore, it is still important to help bring in clients, make sales, and establish credibility.

4. Start a Blog

Blogs are excellent ways to generate traffic and improve SEO (Search Engine Optimization). When you post a blog article on your website, make sure to cross-promote it on social media. This back and forth movement from your social media page and your website will rank you higher in search engines, and will lead to more traffic coming in from engines like Google.

5. Build an Email List

Emails are a great way to engage with your previous clients and future prospects. Build an email list via your blog or website, and send regular email campaigns with a service like Mail Chimp to track your email analytics.

If you’re still unsure where to start, or you need help filling out your checklist, click the button below and send us an email. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible and give you the help you need.

Happy Marketing!
